Career Paths for Graduate Students aims to expose UMBC graduate students to employment options in various industries and to inform them about possible career paths and opportunities available specifically to graduate students.

If you are a graduate student, join us for this annual networking event with employers specifically looking to hire students in master's and PhD programs.

This event is a collaboration between the Career Center and PROMISE AGEP.

This event is part of UMBC's Career Month, an opportunity for all students to explore their professional options through workshops, alumni chats, mini industry fairs, employer info tables, employer site visits, and more.

About AppleTree
AppleTree’s mission is to close the achievement gap before students get to kindergarten. To accomplish this mission, we focus exclusively on Preschool and Pre-K education. We provide free, full-day public charter school programming for three- and four-year olds in 12 locations across Washington, DC, employing our innovative and award winning instructional model, called Every Child Ready (ECR). This instructional model provides educators with tools and resources for “What to Teach”, “How to Teach” and “How to Measure Success.” Our instructional model is also used with partners across the nation. The original Hememics team spent years developing a bio preservative--the basis for the company’s intellectual properly (IP). Now the company is applying its IP in cell and protein preservation to diagnostics.

Hememics leads the nascent industry of graphene-based bio sensors and uses this technology in its point-of-care diagnostics tools.

LTYC integrates arts and education programming, our mission is to encourage youth to use their gifts and strengths by applying the arts and leadership as tools, to help promote success and balance in their lives.

School based arts programs strengthen and augment the level of arts instruction in persistently low-performing elementary, middle and high schools. Following the ARTS CORE (Achieving Results by Transforming Students through Creative, Reflective, Open Expression), the program offers students intense, rigorous training in the performing and creative arts at a pre-professional level. Instructors are practitioners of their discipline and working artists in the community. The LTYC school based arts program also increases student exposure to the arts and builds skills in creating, performing and responding to the arts.

The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) delivers world-class geospatial intelligence that provides a decisive advantage to policymakers, warfighters, intelligence professionals and first responders.

Anyone who sails a U.S. ship, flies a U.S. aircraft, makes national policy decisions, fights wars, locates targets, responds to natural disasters, or even navigates with a cellphone relies on NGA.

NGA enables all of these critical actions and shapes decisions that impact our world through the indispensable discipline of geospatial intelligence (GEOINT).

NGA is a unique combination of intelligence agency and combat support agency. It is the world leader in timely, relevant, accurate and actionable GEOINT. NGA enables the U.S. intelligence community and the Department of Defense (DOD) to fulfill the president’s national security priorities to protect the nation. NGA also anticipates its partners’ future needs and advances the GEOINT discipline to meet them.

NGA is the lead federal agency for GEOINT and manages a global consortium of more than 400 commercial and government relationships. The director of NGA serves as the functional manager for GEOINT, the head of the National System for Geospatial Intelligence (NSG) and the coordinator of the global Allied System for Geospatial Intelligence (ASG). In its multiple roles, NGA receives guidance and oversight from DOD, the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) and Congress.

Since 1956, the Laboratory for Physical Sciences, in partnership with the University of Maryland, has advanced the physics and engineering behind information science and technology. A unique organization where university, industry, and federal government scientists collaborate on research in advanced communication, sensing, and computer technologies, the LPS currently houses three main research divisions: Solid-State and Quantum Physics, Advanced Manufacturing & Sensing, and Advanced Computing Systems.

The Laboratory for Physical Sciences is located in the Washington DC Metropolitan area. Home to many commercial collaborators, universities, government laboratories, and sponsors, the D.C. Oceaneering Technologies (OTECH) performs a wide range of engineering services and products for unique marine systems for military and commercial customers. Additionally, we are a leader in offshore oilfield maintenance services, umbilical's, subsea hardware, and tooling. We also use applied technology expertise to serve the defense, entertainment, material handling, aerospace, science, and renewable energy industries.

The Women’s Law Center of Maryland serves as a leading voice for justice and fairness for women by advocating for the physical safety, economic security, and autonomy of women throughout the state. We work towards this goal by providing direct legal representation, information and referral services, and legislative advocacy.

The WLC is currently open to hosting an intern interested in nonprofit marketing, communications, or fundraising.
